Welterweight Sean Brady responds to Ian Machado Garry’s dismissive call out, saying that he would “ragdoll” the undefeated prospect.
On Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour, Ian Machado Garry said that a potential matchup against Brady isn’t an “interesting” fight and that he doesn’t “rate him in any way, shape or form.”
In the 16-1 American’s response to the comments dismissing his skills, Brady claimed that Garry would be “rag-dolled” if the pair ever faced each other in the UFC octagon.

Following his split decision victory over Geoff Neal at UFC 298, Ian Machado Garry returned to The MMA Hour and the undefeated Irishman told Ariel Helwani that he’s not interested in facing fellow contender Sean Brady.
“We have the same management. I don’t think Sean Brady’s an interesting fight at all. I actually don’t rate him in any way shape or form.”
Garry claimed that “there’s far bigger matchups in the division that are far more dangerous,” including against Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington, who the polarizing 14-0 athlete called out in the immediate aftermath of UFC 298.
Bloody Elbow shared a screenshot of Brady’s response online in which he broke down what Garry ‘really’ meant: “Doesn’t interest me at all a.k.a. I want to fight someone who I won’t get rag-dolled by.”
Following the most recent update to the UFC rankings, Ian Machado Garry is now ranked at #6 in the welterweight division, one spot above Brady who slipped to #7.

A potential feud between Garry and Brady isn’t something new, with the American calling it “the easiest fight in the division” back in December 2023.
“I’m just going to keep it honest: Just the way he went about it with his team, it just rubs me the wrong way. He just rubs the sport the wrong way. I’m a true professional in this sport, and I just don’t like the way he walks around with the cameras and gets kicked out of Leon Edwards’ gym.”
Brady was recently forced to withdraw from his scheduled clash with Vicente Luque, replaced by Joaquin Buckley for the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 241 in Atlantic City in March.
